Lukas is a member of the Ukrainian SSO (Special Operations Forces who has been serving since 2020. Lukas and his team are currently operating in an undisclosed location in the Bakhmut Region of the Donetsk Oblast.
Altogether the Lukas Squad Company now has 3 separate groups in its entirety, all of its soldiers in a variety of roles but an emphasis on reconnaissance and surveillance as well as drone operators.
Lukas himself recalled his first missions when the Russians invaded on February 24th, 2022;
โWe were first tasked with the counter-assault on the Hostomel Airport (Antonov Airport),โ the exact number of Russian troops assaulting the airfield isnโt known however itโs estimated that 500-700 VDV troops landed in the first wave. โthe order for us to participate in the counter attack against the Hostomel Airport was canceled and we were reassigned to the Bucha District after that order to the town of Gorenka.โ
Lukas and his team were tasked with a mission behind the breach in Irpin and engaged a Russian mechanized brigade where he would get his first k!ll against enemy Russian combatants, his team also engaged armor and obtained multiple armor kills.
โIt was very strange, we engaged Russian conventional troops, but we also encountered Russian National Guard and some sort of Russian Police unit. The Police unit attempted to flee but were finished off by Ukrainian forces, they appeared confused and surprised. It was as if they had been expecting to occupy the area and be welcomed in. I donโt think they were told there would be a war.โ
After those initial first battles he would go to fight in Severodonetsk, his team scoring several successful ambushes against Russian forces and recalled many soldiers becoming battle fatigued, even joking himself; โI remember when I was in Severodonestk,โ he began laughing, โI had a dream where I stepped on a land mine and it blew my foot off but at least I was out of the war.โ He laughed again with his friend and co-worker Sasha.
